Postmotion turns your descriptions and data into motion-graphics videos. This page explains what we collect to do that, who helps us run it, how long we keep things, and how to delete them. Postmotion is run by the Postmotion team.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address, and password (stored only as a secure hash, never readable), and whether you've confirmed your email.
- Sign-in sessions: when you log in we keep a session with your IP address and browser type, so you stay logged in and we can spot misuse. Logging out ends it.
- What you make: the descriptions you write, files you attach (spreadsheets, PDFs, text, pictures, audio), pictures fetched from links you paste, the plans and numbers you check, and the videos, versions, and MP4 exports that come out of them.
- Usage needed to run the service: the jobs we run for you (for example "building version 3"), their timing and cost, and short-lived counts per IP address that limit repeated sign-in attempts.
We don't show ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't use analytics or tracking tools.
How we use it
- To create, check, preview, change, and export your videos, and to keep your work in your account.
- To send account emails: confirming your email and resetting your password. No marketing emails.
- To keep the service secure and working: limiting repeated attempts, and investigating errors.
Who helps us run Postmotion
These companies process data for us, only to provide the service:
- Cloudflare hosts the site, the database with your account and videos, and the files you upload and create.
- Google Cloud (in the United States) runs the jobs that build and check your videos and renders MP4s. Files used for a render are kept there temporarily and deleted after 7 days; the finished MP4 is stored with Cloudflare.
- Anthropic (Claude) drafts the plan. It receives your description and the contents of attached spreadsheets, PDFs, and text files. Pictures and audio aren't sent to it, only their file names.
- Resend delivers account emails.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces, so your browser contacts Google when pages load.
Some of these process data outside your country, including in the United States.
Cookies and browser storage
We use one cookie that keeps you logged in. Nothing else is stored for tracking.
How long we keep it
- Your account and your videos, versions, exports, and files stay until you delete them.
- Deleting a video deletes all of its versions, exports, and files.
- Deleting your account deletes everything above. Copies held by the companies listed above for delivery or backups are removed on their own schedules.
- Render files at Google Cloud are deleted after 7 days.
Your choices and rights
- See and change: your videos and files are in your account; ask us for anything else we hold about you.
- Download: export your videos as MP4 files at any time.
- Delete: delete any video from its page, or your whole account from Your account.
- Depending on where you live, you may have further rights, such as objecting to processing or complaining to a data protection authority.
Children
Postmotion isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Payments
Payments are handled by Polar (polar.sh), which sells Postmotion's plans as the merchant of record. Polar receives your email address, your payment details, and your billing country; we never see or store card numbers. We keep a record of the credits you bought and spent.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date above and tell account holders by email. Questions or requests: admin@postmotion.app.
